Michigan

IECMH consultants provide individual and programmatic consultation, and the ECE workforce receives training in the Pyramid Model. A 2017 study found that ECE centers with both Pyramid Model training and IECMHC improved teacher practices more than centers with Pyramid Model training alone. This is likely because a mental health professional helped staff understand children's behaviors.

Pennsylvania

IECMH consultants work with ECE directors and teachers. They deepen understanding of children's social and emotional development and connect children and families to services. These services help reduce the number of children expelled from child care settings. Consultants also offer some Pyramid Model training.
